The Gobble-Uns Will Get You If You Don’t Watch Out

The Green Goblins of Oz, by Marin Elizabeth Xiques and Chris Dulabone – This is a sequel to Havenly Dreams Beneath Oz, but it was actually published first, so maybe it would be more accurate to call Havenly Dreams a prequel. Anyway, I’ve noticed that Chris’s books often tend to be sentimental or silly, if not both. This one is definitely the latter, focusing on introducing the odd inhabitants of the underground Goblin Grotto. The main characters are Dumper and Yawner, two green goblins who are on a quest for the key that will let them into the Land of Oz. They are hindered in their progress by a bullying goblin named Claris, who has several misadventures of her own. I liked this one more than Havenly Dreams, despite the fact that none of the action takes place in Oz itself, but it still wasn’t great. Amusing, but largely forgettable.
